Mrs Fairhurst - Pastoral and Welfare Officer

Miss R Harper - SEND Link Governor

At St Andrew's C of E Primary, we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve. We are committed to the inclusion of all children. We believe that all teachers are teachers of pupils with SEND.

"Leaders know pupils well and are quick to identify the needs of those with SEND. Staff ensure that pupils with SEND can access the same curriculum as their peers. When this is not possible, leaders and staff work closely with other professionals to help meet pupils’ needs. This ensures that pupils with SEND achieve the same as others in the school." Ofsted report (January 2022)

"All pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), achieve well." (OFSTED 2023)

Children with Additional Needs

We believe every child should have the opportunity to participate to the best of their ability and be integrated into the everyday life of the school.

All children at our school are valued and respected and we respond with sensitivity to their individual needs.

In the first instance, we provide high quality teaching that is adapted to meet the needs of our children. However, for some children there may be occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them achieve their targets. We aim to work in partnership with parents to ensure that our children develop the skills and resilience to enable them to learn.

If you have any questions about how we embrace children with additional needs please look in our SEN-D policy or contact the school directly.
